Saks Fifth Avenue
Iconic Handbag Windows

CLIENT: SAKS FIFTH AVENUE

Agency: Stand and Build

ROLE: Designer & PROJECT MANAGER

In February 2019 Saks Fifth Avenue reopened their main floor as part of a multi-year, 250 million dollar renovation of its flagship 5th Ave location. The main floor is now dedicated to handbags, including 100 newly-designed Iconic bags exclusive to Saks.

The windows we created coincided with the reopening of the main floor and featured these exclusive Iconic handbags.

Each window focused on a handbag from one of seventeen brands participating in the campaign. These bags were CNC-milled from foam and hand-painted to resemble sculpted marble enlargements of the original handbags.

These bags were mounted to float in front of painted or mirror backdrops – mimicking design elements from the renovated main floor. In addition, a matching marble proscenium frames the entire window, emphasizing the classical sculptural feel of the design.
